Ben Hamilton practices exclusively in the field of U.S. immigration law, and has a wide-range of knowledge and experience with an emphasis on employment and investment related cases. His background includes nonimmigrant employment visas, employment and family based immigrant visas, immigrant and nonimmigrant investment visas, citizenship and naturalization, U.S. waivers, and federal compliance with immigration laws.
Ben works with individuals and companies of all sizes to assess eligibility and facilitate entry into the U.S. including long term case planning and management and strategic advice regarding qualifying investments and corporate structures. Ben has extensive experience with E-1, E-2, L-1A and TN visas as well as experience in, but not limited to, O, P, L-1B, H1B and H-2B visas, and green cards through employment (multinational managers and PERM), entrepreneurship (NIW), and investment (EB-5).
Ben also works with families and individuals to resolve their U.S. immigration issues, including obtaining family based green cards, U.S. waivers due to criminality, misrepresentation and deportation.
Ben attended Brigham Young University in Provo, Utah where he obtained a Bachelor of Arts in History. He received his Juris Doctor from the University of Houston Law Center in Houston, Texas. He is a member of the State Bar of Texas and the American Immigration Lawyers Association (AILA). He is also fluent in English and Spanish.
Ben is married with four children. His wife is from South America where he lived for nearly two and a half years. He experienced the immigration process firsthand as he guided his wife from conditional residency to citizenship. Immediately before joining Chavez & Valko, Ben and his family also spent a year in Calgary, Canada. As a result, Ben understands the trials and tribulations of navigating a complex immigration system through both personal and work experience.
