DHS: TPS Extension For Venezuela

by | Jul 12, 2022 | Immigration News

The Secretary of Homeland Security Alejandro N. Mayorkas announced a TPS extension for Venezuela for an additional 18 months on Monday, July 12. The extension is scheduled to begin on September 10, 2022, and end on March 10, 2024.

It is important to understand that this only applies to Venezuelans who are already beneficiaries and were already in the United States as of March 8, 2021.

Venezuelans eligible for TPS under the current designation but have not yet applied with USCIS should do so before the September 9, 2022 deadline. This includes Venezuelans covered under the January 2021 Deferred Enforced Departure (DED) grant.

Instructions for re-registering for TPS and applying for the Employment Authorization Document (EAD) renewal will be available later in a Federal Register notice. Once the instructions are released, we’ll be sure to announce them on social media and on our blog. So make sure you follow to get the most up-to-date news.

If you have questions about your eligibility, be sure to give us a call or schedule a consultation online to speak with one of our experienced immigration attorneys.
