The U.S. Department of State has announced the winners of the Diversity Visa Lottery for the fiscal year 2023. A total of 55,000 entrants have been selected to apply for permanent resident status in the United States. If selected, you have until September 30, 2023, to begin your application process. We advise that you start the process as soon as possible.
How to Check Selection Status
Applicants have already been notified if they have been selected for the 2023 Diversity Visa Lottery. If you are unsure if you have been chosen or not, you can visit the “DV Entrant Status Check” portal on the State Department website and click “Check Status.” From there, click “Continue” and fill out the required information, which includes;
- Confirmation Number
- Last/Family Name
- Year of Birth
- and an Authentication check
What You Need to Apply
Once you have confirmed your status as a selected applicant, you should begin your application process by filling out the DS-260 Immigrant Visa Electronic Application. You must gather all the necessary supporting documents to complete this process successfully. Your supporting documents include:
- Birth Certificate
- Court and Prison Records
- Military Records
- Police Certificates
- Photo of Valid Passport Biographic Data Page
Please remember that being selected in the lottery does not guarantee a green card. It just means that you are now eligible to apply for a diversity visa and must take all the required steps to complete the process.
